Past Adventures

As most of you know, I'm Jessi and my husband is Jesse and we bought a van. The van is a 1987 Toyota van-wagon with 4 wheel drive and it's name is Oyster, or in Spanish la Ostra.

We truly believe, todo el mundo es su ostra! The world is your oyster. That is why we have decided to take the oyster on many adventures including a 6 month adventure to Mexico. We will embark on our journey around September 6th to the Midwest to visit with family and friends. On October 3rd we will be celebrating the marriage of Micah and Jamie, then, off to Mexico.

Don't think Jesse hasn't tested out the integrity of this vehicle. He has. He drove from San Francisco to Moab, to Iowa, then from Iowa to Mount Rushmore through the Pacific Northwest and up to Vancouver, where he put the Oyster on a boat and hauled it to Vancouver Island. After this he drove from northern Washington back to San Francisco, all in about 3 weeks.

We have full faith that this vehicle is going to last us forever. That's why we have decided to drive though Mexico and further if we can. By further, I mean getting as far as Panama then turning around and coming back. We also are doing this because we want to take some time before Jesse has to settle into a practice and be a work slave for five years. I still want to love my job, so before I start hating it I am going to take a little time off.

Here are some pictures of us and the van so you can see where it has been so far.
